Equipment:
Cookie Sheet, Plate, Paper Towels, Bowl, Spoon, Measuring Cups, Measuring Spoons, Frying Pan, Spatula
Ingredients:
Bacon – You only need 1 1/2 pieces per McGriddle but you can save the rest for later
Flour – 1/2 Cup + a little
Sugar – 1 Tablespoon
Baking Powder – 1 Teaspoon
Salt – 1/4 Teaspoon
Buttermilk or any milk you have in the fridge – 1/2 Cup
Vegetable Oil – 1 1/2 Tablespoons
Egg – 1/2 for pancake batter + 1 for the sandwich
Maple Syrup – 1/2 Teaspoon for pancake batter + drizzled on top of sandwich
American Cheese – 1 Slice
*This recipe makes about 6 pancakes.
Directions:
- Turn the oven to 400 degrees.
- Put bacon on a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes until crispy.
- Have a paper towel covered plate ready. Once bacon is done transfer it to the plate and dab the grease off.
- Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, buttermilk, vegetable oil, egg and maple syrup.
- Turn stove on to medium heat and heat up frying pan.
- Add bacon grease to frying pan and pour about 3 tablespoon of pancake batter per cake.
- Cook each side of the pancake for about 2 minutes (when the cakes start to bubble and pop flip to the other side.)
- Set the pancakes aside.
- Add more bacon grease to frying pan and cook up an egg.
- Place American cheese on top of the egg after it has been flipped.
- Once the cheese is melted layer the egg on the pancake, add the bacon, place the other pancake on top and drizzle with maple syrup!
