Equipment:
2 Bowls, Measuring Cups, Chopsticks, Saran Wrap, Rolling Pin, Circle Cookie Cutter or a Glass, Cutting Board, Knife, Small Bowl, Frying Pan
Dough Ingredients:
Flour – 1 Cup
Water – 1/2 Cup
Dumpling Filling Ingredients:
Ground Pork – 1/3 Pound
Garlic – 1 Clove
Mushrooms – 3
Ginger Powder – A Little
Soy Sauce – A Little
Oyster Sauce – A Little
Sugar – A Little
Sesame Oil – A Little
Onions or Cabbage – A Little Bit
*Makes 8-10 Dumplings
Directions:
- Mix the flour and water with chopsticks until there is no loose flour.
- Knead it into a ball.
- Let it sit covered for 10-15 minutes.
- Knead it again until the dough is very soft and let it sit covered for 30-60 minutes.
- Roll out the dough.
- Use a circular cookie cutter to cut even sized dumpling wrappers.
- Mix the filling ingredients together.
- Fill the dough with a little ball of the pork mixture.
- Put a dab of water around the edge of the dough then squeeze the edges of the dough together and fold around the outer edge.
- 10. Heat up a frying pan with vegetable oil and fry for 10 to 20 minutes, make sure the internal temperature of the dumpling is 160°F.
